I have no words. My body is ready for his movie and eyes have been blessed with perfection.
I demand that this footage is played at my funeral.
CAN YOU TELL THAT I AM EXCITED FOR SUICIDE SQUAD?!!
Cara Delevingne is the most famous model in the world right now. She is only 22 and already has incredibly impressive modelling résumé and a list of high profile celebrity pal’s to boot. Not only is she a talented model but she can sing (click here for proof of her angelic voice) she can act and can pull funny faces while still looking flawless. Seriously, is there anything this woman can’t do?!
One of the most interesting thing’s about Cara is her personal style is totally understated and casual, in comparison to the haute couture looks she struts down the runway in. In my opinion, her ‘off study’ style is far more interesting. Cara is young and free, she really doesn’t give a f*ck what anyone thinks about her fashion choices and I love that! She lives life to the fullest.
To get Cara’s ‘off duty’ look, it is best to combine key pieces to create a dressy/casual look that makes you look stylish, while still being comfy and easy to wear. Cara is a huge fan of loose fitting band tee’s and plain vest tops, she usually pairs them with a cool leather jacket or parka jacket, depending on the occasion. She usually wears a funky slogan beanie or cap. If you are on a budget, I find that Primark stock a lot of similar style beanies and hats for affordable prices.
Although Cara is a fashion muse and icon (Mulberry designed a line of handbags in her honor called the Cara Delevingne Collection!) she isn’t afraid to rock high street clothing. She’s often seen wearing clothing and accessories from high street stores. She loves to shop in Topshop & Zara!
Cara’s makeup is usually kept very low key and natural, especially when is is going on casting calls. She wears nude colours to suit her beautifully bronzed skin tone. She usually wears copper or gold coloured eye shadows to really make her big blue eyes pop! Mascara is also very important when recreating Cara’s look, she uses lashings of black mascara to give her that doe-eyed look.
On special occasions she has been known to wear a bold, sultry pout. She loves to wear deep red lipstick to red carpet events but as she like to play up her eyes, she usually wears a nude lip colour. Ohhh and let’s not forget the single most important aspect to Cara’s look, her world famous eyebrows! She brought bushy back and made everyone put away their trusty tweezers.
To get Cara’s famous bushy brow look, create some definition and fullness in your brows by using an eyebrow palette and brush to fill in any gaps. You can find several makeup tutorials online that show you how to re-create Cara’s famous brows but be warned, this look isn’t for everyone!
Cara is a huge fan of tattoos. One of her most famous tattoo’s is the Lion she had tattooed onto her finger, but of course not everyone is brave enough to go under the needle! To re-create Cara’s look you can buy some fantastic temporary tattoos online, like this selection on Ebay . Temporary tattoo’s were really on trend last summer and I am pretty sure they will be just as big this year. They are a great way to have fun with fashion without the commitment (or pain) of a real tattoo.
On or off the runway, Cara Delevingne doesn’t take herself too seriously and that makes her fashion journey incredibly fun to follow. Her goofy personality makes her relatable and her drool worthy wardrobe and impressive entourage of celeb pals makes us all weep with sheer envy!
Cara really is a true style icon and I can’t wait to see more fashion looks from her in the future.
Last night marked the one of the biggest nights in fashion this year, the Super Bowl of the fashion world, the annual Met Gala. Celebrities and fashionistas arrived on the red carpet wearing outfits inspired by this year’s theme, “China: Through the Looking Glass”. Some people took the theme literally when putting together their Met Gala looks and others seemed to have missed the memo.
Here are some of the stand out looks from the Met Gala 2015.
Rihanna (Guo Pei)
Cara Delevingne (Stella McCartney)
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Versace)
Kim Kardashian West (Roberto Cavalli)
Kendall Jenner (Calvin Klein)
Amal Clooney (Maison Margiela)
Gigi Hadid (Diane Von Furstenberg)
Mary-Kate & Ashley (vintage Dior by John Galliano)
Helen Mirren (Dolce & Gabbana)
On Thursday night Kendall Jenner hosted a star studded event in the world famous hotel, Chateau Marmont, to celebrate the launch of her new #mycalvins denim series. Dressed to impress, the 19 year old model looked stunning in a simple, neutral ensemble, she wore a sparking turtleneck and cream coloured skirt to the event. Of course the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan were there to show their support, as well as celebrity pal’s and fellow models, Cara Delevingne and Bella Hadid.
Khloe & Kylie looked absolutely amazing on the night, donning monochrome outfits. Khloe wore an all white, figure hugging dress, with a sultry plunging neckline. Kylie teamed up a black bandeau top and black shorts with an Aztec printed jacket, for a simple yet stylish look.
Kendall’s sister Kim Kardashian was unable to attend the event, as her and husband Kanye West were in New York City at the time of the event. Kendall’s friends and family can usually be seen in the front row at all of her fashion shows, showing their love and support for her & her career.
“Modelling for Calvin Klein Jeans is really a dream come true,” she said in a statement. “I’ve grown up wearing the brand and seeing the iconic advertising in magazines and on billboards featuring some of the world’s top supermodels. To now be a part of that legacy is truly an honor.”
I am really excited that Kendall is the new face of Calvin Klein, she is fresh faced and full of life. Her career has reached new heights this year and I can only seen it getting better and better!
News has broken out that the model of the moment, Cara Delevingne, has been lined up to play comic book character Harley Quinn in a future adaption of DC’s Suicide Squad. The film was confirmed by Warner Brothers this month and is rumored to be released in 2016. As a lot of you know, I am a huge Harley Quinn fan, so this news has been quite a shock to me and quite honesty,
I am not happy about it.
Cara Delevingne is a great model, i’ll give her that, but the role of Harley is not something that should be handed out like candy by DC. Harley Quinn is possibly the most popular female DC character of all time, every single time I attend a convention there are at least ten people cosplaying as her. The release of the Arkham video games have also given Harley a boost in popularity over the past few years and she is probably more popular than ever nowadays. The first time I ever saw Harley Quinn was on Batman: The Animated Series, as a child. She was so popular with fans in the animated series that DC crossed over her character into the Batman comic book series. It is safe to say that Harley is a beloved character in the DC universe as well as the comic book universe in general.
I have grown up with this character, i’m invested in this character emotionally, so it is safe to say that I have some qualms about Cara portraying my favorite comic book character of all time on the big screen. More so, I am hurt by DC’s handling of Harley’s character in recent times. Like the horrific idea of hosting a drawing contest, where entrants had to draw Harley in various scenarios, committing suicide. Not to mention they have also been disrespectful towards the character of Batwoman, telling their artists that they are not allowed to portray Batwoman and her girlfriend marrying in a same sex ceremony, but that is a whole other blog post in itself.
I honestly have no ill will towards Cara, I just feel that she is not the right choice for this role. In my opinion, DC saw an opportunity to get the model of the moment on board with this film because her face is pretty much plastered on every street corner the world over and she is affiliated with some of the worlds biggest brands. Not to mention her status as a celebrity and connections to some of the top dogs of almost every major industry in the world. Sure, she is a marketing dream but is she right for the role for those reasons alone?! Harley has never featured in any major Batman film because honestly, the boots are too big to fill. The character is so beloved by the fan base that choosing the right actress for the role is almost like finding a needle in a haystack.
Of course there are other factors, like where would she fit into the story line of the franchises films but I think there would have been some chance of her appearing in one of Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, if Heath Ledger was alive to be in the final film of the Nolan series. In my mind, as a fully fledged Harley Quinn fan girl, the only person to play the role of Harley Quinn would have been the late Brittany Murphy. Oh and let me tell you, I am not alone in that thought. I found an entire fan base online, who feel the same. In fact, there are many fan art depictions of Heath and Brittany portraying the iconic couple together. In my opinion, they would have been perfect to play Harley & The Joker in the Nolan franchise, but hey, that’s just me. Unfortunately, tragic circumstances prohibit my Harley/Joker dream team from ever happening.
Another reason I think DC are so quick to latch on to the idea of casting a popular model is because Marvel have them quaking in their boots after the phenomenal response to their latest hit film, Guardians of the Galaxy. It seems that DC will do anything to get their name in the press and cause a buzz around their announcement of their plans to release a film adaption of the Suicide Squad comics. Cara has millions of followers on social media and her rumored relationship towards the film is bound to generate some press and opinions about the up coming film and hey, I guess they were right because they sure got me fired up enough to write a blog about it!
I just think that DC no longer care about their female characters, all they want is money and through the roof sales and to compete with their rivals. They want the Suicide Squad to overshadow films like Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers and I get that, I really do. What bothers me is the sheer disrespect and nonchalant decisions they are making for some of their female characters as of late, including Harley.
Whatever the final decision DC make about who plays Harley in the film adaption of Suicide Squad, I hope that they are respectful of Harley and stay true to her character. Harley is a big part of the comic book universe and her character is special to a lot of fans. The decision about who plays her should not be taken lightly or given to someone who is popular at this very moment, in order to draw in a bigger audience and copious amounts of press.
One thing I will admit is that I respect Marvel more than DC, for taking the time to match the right actor to the role they are looking to fill. Over the years, Superhero films have smashed the box office wide open. I am so happy to see more comic books being made into epic, ball busting films but I do feel that integrity of characters like Harley Quinn are being compromised in order to make a quick buck in Hollywood.
On the front page of MSN.ie yesterday the headline read “Cara Delevingne and Michelle Rodriguez confirm they are a couple”. After being spotted a basketball game kissing and being intimate, rumors began flying about that the two where an item and Michelle Rodriguez confirmed the suspected relationship to The Mirror.
I for one, think they look adorable together.
Also this week Chicago Fire actress Monica Raymund tweeted about her admiration and pride to be apart of the LGBT community. Which a few people responded saying that they think being bisexual wasn’t “queer enough” to be considered a sexuality that should be apart of the LBGT community. These type of comments enrage me, I don’t understand how people can write off bisexuality like it is a made up sexual preference. Some people like men AND women and I am among that category, which is bigger than you might think.
Bisexual people get fobbed off as being “greedy” which is such a childish argument it is almost laughable. Or most people seem to believe it to be an attention seeking status that girls throw about in order to make guys think they are edgy and hot. I am sure that there are some people out there who do that sort of thing but you can’t call every woman who announces she is bisexual, attention seeking. In my own personal opinion, love is love. Isn’t that what we are trying to explain through the gay rights movement? Bare in mind there is a “B” in LGBT for a reason. Because bisexuality is a legitimate sexual preference, not some made up mumbo jumbo to be sufficed as an excuse to seem “cool” in front of horny men or women alike.
I don’t think I have ever mentioned this openly in a blog or video but I like men and women.
I am not ashamed of that fact what so ever.
In fact, looks or gender are not that important to me.
Of course that doesn’t mean I find everyone in the world attractive! I have my preferences like anyone else. I don’t go around telling everyone about it because it’s no ones business but my own. Also, I don’t think it is a big deal! It’s a small part of who I am and I don’t let it effect how I live my life in any big dramatic way because it’s not that big of a deal. The people who love me will accept it and those who won’t can pretty much move on with their lives like I have mine. Right now I am happily with the love of my life who happens to be a man, who is understanding and accepting of me in every way.
I wrote this blog post to make a stand for the letter that rightfully belongs to me and so many others in LGBT. I was inspired by Ellen Page coming out this week and Cara & Michelle announcing their relationship to the world.
And I hope to see more female power couples in the near future. 😉
